Extension Request
Most extensions will be responded to within 24-48 hours. If you have submitted an extension request after 4pm on Thursday, your request will not be seen until Monday morning as the Academic Admin office is closed on Friday. You will not be disadvantaged by a delay in viewing or processing.
Please be assured that requests that fulfill the normal criteria will normally be granted.
The ACT policy under which MST works specifies that extensions are only be granted in the case of special circumstances impacting a student that are:
(a) Beyond a student’s control, and
(b) Make it impracticable for the student to complete the assessment during the specified time.

Please note:
- Any extensions requested on medical grounds must be supported by a medical certificate specifying the range of time a set of circumstances has impacted your study.
- Further documentation may be required for requests based on other circumstances.
- Extensions for requests must be made before the due date of the specified assessment.
- Extensions will only considered for assessments where a submission has not yet been made.
We recommend you let us know of any difficulties you might be experiencing as early as possible. Remember, that we have a number of student support services to assist you however we can.
