At the heart of MBI, BCV and MST is the underpinning involvement in Mission. It is a part of the college’s DNA and is apparent through the legacy of the many students who have come before. The Great Commission of Matthew 28:19 and Acts 1:8 is evident as people are discipled and are sent out for mission; near and far.
In light of the centrality of mission to the life of the College community, each year a mission organisation is nominated and financially supported throughout the year. In 2018, this mission organisation has been A21. A21’s aim is to abolish slavery in the 21st century. The student body has raised over $3000 in support for this cause from their bake sales and trivia. Over the past 7 years, the student community has raised over $35,500 towards supporting Mission and Gospel work around the world. These projects include 3 different projects with Overseas Council of Australia, CLTC in Papua New Guinea, Kununurra Building Project (N.T) and Ellipsis International.
A massive thank you needs to be given to this year’s Student Leadership team. This year’s team tackled many new situations with the joining of communities, but did an outstanding job exploring the exciting new opportunities that a combined leadership team brings.
Please join us in prayer for the new combined leadership team for 2019, as well as the wider student community. Each student has been called to study as they follow and discern where God is leading them. Matthew 9:37b-38 says
“The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; therefore, pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest.”
Pray that these students are equipped, strengthened and also drawn near to God, as they prepare to be sent out into a world in need of hope.
