How to apply to study with MST
For overseas students
Contact us
Establishing initial contact with the college is an essential part of the application process at MST. Feel free to contact us via telephone +61 3 9881 7800 or email mst@mst.edu.au to discuss your intention to study and your course options. Please Note: The College is not able to take any further overseas applicants in 2025.
Determine your assessment level
Immigration has now a new Simplified Student Visa Framework (SSVF). They are no longer using the assessment level but the provider and country’s immigration risk rating in determining the requirements for financial capacity and English proficiency. For more information and clarification of your requirements click here.
Provide evidence and required documentation
You will need to provide evidence that you or a suitable sponsor will be able to pay for your tuition and living costs. Evidence required is stipulated on the above Australian Immigration website listed in Point 2. Further documentation for overseas applicants will be requested at this stage of the process.
Processing your application
Once the admission team has received your application form (completed in full), with all reference forms, transcripts, certificates, and other documentation, your application will be reviewed by the Applications Committee.
Once reviewed, you may be invited for an interview either on campus or remotely.
Offer of study
If your application is approved, it will be forwarded to the Australian College of Theology (ACT) for their assessment. If approved by the ACT, they will send you the “formal offer and overseas student written agreement” by email. You will need to sign the agreement and return this to ACT. ACT office will then send you a Confirmation of Enrolment (COE).
VISAS & Insurance
Please note that it is your responsibility to apply for the correct Visa, health insurance, flights, accommodation, etc in accordance with Australian Government Visa regulations. Visit the website here for more details: http://www.border.gov.au/Trav/Stud. However, MST will endeavour to support and assist you in this process.
